Location mode

This configuration defines how the location setting is handled on a managed Android Enterprise device.

The Location mode configuration controls the location setting (location services) of the device. In the portal, it is labelled with the enrollment mode Managed Device; it applies to fully managed devices and to managed devices with a personal profile (COPE), not to devices with a work profile (BYOD). It can be added only once per policy.

Location setting on the device #

The selection field Location setting on the device in the General section is the only setting of the configuration.

Options:

• User choice – The location setting is not restricted. This option is preselected in a new configuration.
• Enable location setting on the device – The location setting is enabled on the device.
• Disabled – The location setting is disabled on the device.

The selected value is also passed to the Relution apps on the device (e.g. the Relution Agent).

Note on work profiles #

The portal displays the following hint in the form:
