Play Store Management
On this page
With the policy configuration Play Store Management, Relution offers the possibility to control the operation of Android devices with Android Enterprise enrollment by reducing the available content in the Google Play Store to the content of the Manage apps configuration. It is also possible to configure app updates.
Restricted Google Play Store
Enable the restricted Play Store - Disabled
- When the user opens the Google Play Store on the device, they can see and install all public apps.
Enable the restricted Play Store - Enabled
- When the user opens the Google Play Store on the device, no apps or only the apps from the Manage apps configuration are visible. Depending on the specified installation type from the Manage apps list, the user can install the released apps.
If the restricted Google Play Store is enabled, apps that are not included in the Manage apps configuration are automatically uninstalled from the device. System apps and apps that Relution adds to the policy itself (e.g. Relution Agent and Companion) are excluded. This also applies if the restricted Google Play Store is enabled via a lesson.
App updates
The Automatic app update field in the Play Store Management configuration offers 4 options:
- User choice
- Never
- Wi-Fi only
- Always
Kiosk mode can prevent automatic updates.
The options Disable app installation and Disable app uninstallation (Restrictions configuration, App restrictions section) prevent any installation or uninstallation, including those triggered via MDM.
