Samsung Classroom Management
This configuration deploys and configures the Samsung Classroom Management app for lessons.
The Samsung Classroom Management configuration sets up the app of the same name for lessons on Android Enterprise devices. In the portal, it is not labelled with a specific enrollment mode. It can be added only once per policy. Samsung Classroom Management requires a separate license (see Teacher →).
Behavior on the device
If a policy contains this configuration, Relution automatically extends the device policy:
- The Samsung Classroom Management app (
com.tabnova.classroomapp) is deployed as a forced installation; its runtime permissions are granted. A managed configuration for the same app from Manage apps → is replaced by the values of this configuration. - The classes the device user belongs to are passed to the app, including teachers and students. Classes are maintained under
Education→Classes(see Educationfunction →). - If the device user is registered as a teacher in at least one class, the Relution Teacher app (
io.relution.teacher) is additionally deployed as a forced installation. - The country stored in the organization’s address is passed as country; if none is set,
Deutschlandis used.
General
- Subscription code – mandatory. Code of the Samsung Classroom subscription that activates the app.
- User name – name under which the device is listed in the app. Prefilled with the placeholder
${user.name}. The app only shows classes containing a member with exactly this name; the value should therefore match the Relution user name. Below the form, the portal displays the available user and device placeholders (see Advanced placeholders →). - School name – optional. If the field is left empty, the name of the organization is passed.
- Apply default web filter list (
https://school.tabnova.com/block.list) – activates the default block list of Samsung Classroom. Switched off by default. - URL of the custom web filter list – optional. Address of a custom block list.
Clean up after lesson
This section defines what is reset on the device after the lesson.
- Trigger Mode – checkboxes Reboot and Sign out; both can be selected at the same time. Neither is selected in a new configuration.
- Clear cookies – deletes the browser cookies. Switched on in a new configuration.
- Folders and files to delete – list of file and folder names, e.g.
DownloadsorDCIM.
Apps to clear
The list contains apps whose data is cleared or which are uninstalled after the lesson. Via Add, free public apps are selected from the Relution App Store or from Managed Google Play; an app already contained in the list is not added twice.
Two checkboxes are available per app:
- Clear data – the app data is deleted.
- Uninstall – the app is uninstalled.
When an app is added, both checkboxes are enabled. Selected apps are removed from the list via Delete.
