WLAN
This policy lets you centrally distribute Wi-Fi network definitions to Android Enterprise devices.
The WLAN policy lets you centrally set up Wi-Fi networks on Android Enterprise devices without requiring users to enter credentials themselves. Multiple Wi-Fi configurations can be added to a single policy at once.
Network Definition
- Wi-Fi configuration name – internal name for identification in Relution.
- SSID – network name in plain text, or alternatively as a hex representation of the network SSID.
- Hidden network – enable if the network does not broadcast its SSID.
- Auto-connect – connects the device automatically once the network is in range.
Security Type
- Security type: None, WEP-PSK, WEP-8021X, WPA/WPA2/WPA3-PSK, WPA/WPA2/WPA3-EAP.
- Passphrase: required for PSK-based security types.
EAP Authentication (WPA/WPA2/WPA3-EAP)
- Outer and inner EAP method, identity, and password
- Client certificate type or certificate template (see Certificate Management →)
- Domain suffix match and Subject Alternative Name (SAN) match for validating the server certificate
Tethering
Tethering state determines how the device behaves when it is meant to act as a hotspot over this network itself.
Roaming and Security
- Enable proactive key caching for fast roaming
- MAC address randomization mode (Hardware/Automatic)
Support: requires Android 13 or later.
Proxy
- Proxy settings: None, Manual, or PAC
- For manual proxy: HTTP proxy, port, and excluded domains
- For PAC: URL of the PAC file
Support
- Managed devices (Device Owner)
- COPE work profile (Personal Profile Enabled)
- Not available for a pure work profile (BYOD/Profile Owner)
