Shared iPad Course List (Verwaltete Accounts)

Introduction

The new class list feature for Shared iPads in makes it easier to sign in managed Apple accounts for students. The new feature allows students to easily sign in using their class and existing name or initials on the device. This means that students no longer need to enter their full managed Apple account when signing in.

Requirements

  • At least one valid DEP token at the location
  • At least one managed Apple account
  • An Apple Shared iPad that has been set up with the same DEP token as the managed Apple accounts

Configuration

  • Open the policies
  • Create an iOS policy
  • Add the Shared iPad configuration
  • Select the classes that you want to allow to log in on the Shared iPad.
  • The available classes will then be displayed on the Shared iPad for selection.

Possible problems

If you have problems logging in, you must check the Apple account that is stored for the user in Relution. If there are any discrepancies, e.g., Apple account in Relution Schueler@relution.io / Apple account in Apple School Manager Schueler@appleid.relution.io, you must adjust this in Relution. If the accounts do not match, logging in to the iPad via the class lists will not work. You can check this by using the account in the usual way via “Sign in to iPad.” If the login details work here, there is a discrepancy between the users.
