External Intelligence Settings
The “External Intelligence Settings” configuration lets you centrally control whether and how external, cloud-based AI services (e.g. ChatGPT) may be used via Siri and Apple Intelligence on macOS devices. The policy is available starting with macOS 26.4 — only for devices with full device enrollment, not in User Enrollment/BYOD mode — and is delivered to the device via Declarative Device Management (DDM). The same configuration is available in identical form for iOS and visionOS devices running the respective 26.4 version.
Note: This configuration is a separate, DDM-based policy and complements existing external intelligence integration fields within the macOS restrictions. Both configuration types can appear side by side in the portal, but cover the same three functions.
