Enrollment under watchOS

With the iOS configuration Enrollments for Apple Watch, Apple Watch devices (watchOS) can be enrolled and managed in Relution via a managed iPhone. The Apple Watch itself cannot be enrolled in Relution directly - it is registered through a paired iPhone that is already managed in Relution.

Requirements #

• A compatible iPhone that is already enrolled and managed in Relution.
• An Apple Watch that can be paired with this iPhone.
• An active internet connection on the iPhone.

Procedure #

1. Create the configuration

   • Open the policy management in Relution.
   • Add the new Enrollments for Apple Watch configuration.

2. Apply the configuration

   • Assign the configuration to a managed iPhone.
   • Wait until the configuration has been applied successfully.
   • The status can be checked under Actions.

3. Pair the Apple Watch

   • Hold the Apple Watch close to the configured iPhone.
   • Start the pairing process on the iPhone.
   • During pairing, a prompt requests consent to enrollment in Relution.

Confirm the prompt to register the Apple Watch in Relution. Once pairing is successful, the Apple Watch appears as a standalone device (watchOS) in the device inventory. Policies can then be used to apply certain restrictions or profiles that are supported for watchOS.

Notes #

• If the Apple Watch is unpaired from an iPhone, it automatically loses its MDM assignment.
• Only compatible watchOS versions can be enrolled using this method.
