Restrictions
Below is an overview of the available watchOS restrictions.
Note the additional hints on individual configuration items in Relution, such as supervised, as well as the minimum OS version, such as watchOS 3.2+.
Device
- Force Apple Watch wrist detection
- When disabled, no wrist detection is performed by a paired Apple Watch.
- Process dictation only on the device itself, do not establish a connection to Siri servers
- When enabled, connections to Siri servers for dictation are disabled.
- Process translation only on the device itself, do not establish a connection to Siri servers
- When enabled, connections to Siri servers for translation are disabled.
Apps
General
- Allow app installation
- When disabled, the App Store cannot be used and its icon is removed from the home screen. Users are not able to install or update applications.
- Allow app removal
- When disabled, removing apps on the watchOS device is not possible.
- Allow App Store
- When the App Store is prohibited, its icon is removed from the home screen. Users can still install and update apps via iTunes or Configurator.
- Allow automatic app downloads
- Automatic downloads of apps purchased on other devices. Does not affect updates of already existing apps.
Siri
- Allow Siri when device is locked
- When disabled, the user cannot use Siri while the device is locked. This setting is ignored if the device has no passcode set.
- Allow Siri to query user-generated content from the web
- When disabled, Siri may not query user-generated content from the web.
Settings
Settings restrictions
- Allow sending diagnostic and usage data to Apple
- When disabled, the device is prevented from automatically sending diagnostic and usage data to Apple.
- Allow screenshots and screen recordings
- When disabled, screenshots and screen recordings cannot be taken. In addition, screen mirroring is not available in the Classroom app.

- Allow account modifications
- When disabled, account modifications are not possible in the settings.
Lock screen
Lock screen restrictions
- Allow notifications in the Notification Center when the device is locked
- When disabled, no notifications are shown on the lock screen and the Notification Center cannot be opened while the device is locked.
