Dashboard
The dashboard is the start page of the Relution portal and summarizes the current state of an organization: devices, apps, policies, enrollments, certificates and the system status are presented as tiles. The page is reached through Dashboard in the side navigation.
The individual tiles are referred to as widgets. Each widget shows one evaluation as a chart, a table or a status overview. The scope of the dashboard is not fixed: widgets can be added, adjusted, moved and removed.

One shared dashboard per organization
A dashboard belongs to the organization, not to an individual user account. Layout changes as well as added or deleted widgets are therefore visible to all users of that organization. A personal dashboard visible to a single account only is not available.
When the tenant is switched, the dashboard of the active organization is loaded. The values shown always refer to the organization the session is currently working in.
Default dashboard
Without any customization, a preconfigured default dashboard is provided. Which widgets it contains depends on the type of organization.
Present in every organization are Device Status, Device Manufacturers, Device Models, Operating Systems, Devices, Device Ownership, Devices in roaming mode by country, Policies, Released Apps, Certificates, System certificates and Knox Service Plugin Feedback.
Depending on the organization, further widgets are added:
- Open Enrollments — in every organization except the global organization.
- Organizations — in organizations with sub-organizations as well as in the global organization.
- Health Status — in the global organization only.
As long as the default dashboard is unchanged, the restore action is disabled and a note points out that the default dashboard is already in use. Once the layout has been saved or a widget has been changed, the result becomes the organization’s own dashboard.
Customizing the layout
Edit Dashboard activates the editing mode. In this mode widgets can be moved and resized with the mouse; the grid rearranges the remaining tiles automatically.
Changes are applied through Save Dashboard Changes and discarded through Deny Dashboard Changes. Both actions are confirmed in a dialog, because the result applies to all users of the organization. When no change is pending, a note on the save icon points out that there are no changes to save.
Adding widgets
Add new Widget opens the Create Widget dialog. It is divided into the Select Chart area for custom evaluations and the Predefined Widgets area for fixed tiles.
Custom widgets based on metrics
The chart type is the starting point. The Select Chart area offers Bar Chart, Stacked Bar Chart, Pie Chart and Table Chart.
After the selection, the widget form opens with the Widget Configuration section:
- Name — the label of the tile. This entry is required.
- Entity — the data source: Devices, Apps, Device Groups, Enrollments or Policies. Only those entities are selectable for which the current user account holds a read permission; the remaining ones do not appear in the list.
- Field — the attribute used for grouping, for example operating system or manufacturer. This field is omitted for table charts.
- Display entities by — for the stacked bar chart only: the second attribute the series are derived from. It has to differ from Field.
- Columns — for table charts only: the selection of the displayed columns.
The Metric Filter section allows the data basis to be restricted further, for example to one platform or one device status.
The Preview area shows the result of the configuration before it is saved. If the selected combination returns no values, a note stating that no suitable data was found is shown there instead.
Predefined widgets
The Predefined Widgets area provides evaluations that cannot be expressed through the metric configuration:
- Health Status — availability of the Relution system components, shown as Up or Down.
- Organizations — overview of the accessible organizations, from which the tenant can be switched.
- Knox Service Plugin Feedback — feedback from the Knox Service Plugin.
- System certificates — stored system certificates with their expiration date.
Only those predefined widgets are offered for which the required read permissions exist. Their evaluation is fixed and cannot be adjusted through the widget form. Each type can be placed on the dashboard only once; a tile already in use is disabled in the dialog and marked as Already added.
Editing, refreshing and removing widgets
Every tile provides a Widget options menu. It contains Delete, Edit and Refresh: Refresh reloads the widget’s data, Edit opens the configuration in the widget form, Delete removes the tile from the dashboard. For predefined widgets Edit is omitted, because their evaluation is not configurable. The menu is not available in editing mode.
Removal is confirmed in a dialog. Widget and configuration are deleted permanently and for all users of the organization; restoring an individual widget is not possible.
Restoring the default dashboard
Restore default Dashboard brings back the initial configuration. All customized widgets are deleted permanently. This action cannot be undone either and affects all users of the organization.
Navigating from widgets to the lists
Widgets are linked to their corresponding overviews. Clicking a chart segment opens the matching list — the Inventory overview →, for example — and applies the selected value there as a filter or as a search term. For a stacked bar chart, both attributes of the clicked segment are carried over. In table widgets, clicking a row opens the detail page of the respective object, provided a detail view exists for that data type.
This navigation is disabled in editing mode so that moving a tile does not accidentally trigger a page change.
Permissions
Access to the dashboard and its customization is controlled by permissions:
- Displaying the dashboard requires a read permission.
- Editing the layout, saving changes and adding widgets require an update permission.
- While the default dashboard is active, the first customization creates the organization’s own dashboard. The permission to create one is additionally required for this step.
- Restoring the default dashboard requires a delete permission.
If one of these permissions is missing, the corresponding action is not offered — its icon does not appear in the dashboard header. Assigning permissions is described in the article Permissions →.
Independently of this, widgets only display data covered by a read permission. Where this is not the case, a corresponding note is shown instead of the evaluation, recommending that the required permissions be requested from the administration.
Limitations
The following limits apply when planning a custom dashboard:
- One dashboard per organization. User-specific dashboards within the same organization are not possible.
- Limited number of widgets. By default, 30 widgets are allowed per dashboard. Once the limit is reached, a note on the add icon states the current and the maximum number.
- Limited number of filters per widget. By default, 20 filters are allowed per widget. If the filter configuration exceeds this value, the widget cannot be saved until filters have been removed.
- Predefined widgets are immutable and can be added only once each.
- Knox Service Plugin Feedback requires a configured Android Enterprise connection; otherwise the widget remains without data.
- Organization scope of the data. The data of the active organization is evaluated.
- Deletions are final. Neither a removed widget nor a dashboard replaced by a restore can be brought back.
Both numeric limits are default values and can be adjusted on the server. In an installation configured differently, the notes in the portal state the values that apply there.
