Agent

Introduction

The Relution Agent monitors the compliance status of each device, provides apps via the Relution Store, and supports multi-user mode (iOS) across various devices. These comprehensive features enable smooth and centralized management of all devices, whether in schools or demanding enterprise environments.

Through seamless integration, the Relution Agent creates an efficient platform that optimizes both security and productivity in mobile device management.

Relution Agent for iOS

The Relution Agent is automatically installed on all managed devices and serves as the central application for Mobile Device Management (MDM) features. A key security measure is that the Relution Agent remains unchangeable on the device as long as the MDM profile is installed. This ensures constant presence and reliability of MDM functions.

The Relution Agent app is part of the Relution platform and can only be used with the Relution backend component and appropriate credentials. Installation should be coordinated with the IT administrators of the organization.

App Features

  • Display device compliance status
  • Install and update relevant apps
  • Uninstall unnecessary apps
  • View, request, and add apps and web links
  • Relution Shared Device (for multi-user devices)
  • iBeacon, GeoFence, and zone detection
  • Display messages from the MDM system on the device
  • Device login via QR code / MFA token
  • Display device information
  • Enable push notifications
  • Enable biometric authentication for device login

Portal Notices

Two agent-related notices may appear in the portal, visible in the Device Standard Policy:

  1. Relution Client-App Connection - Relution App must be bound to the device
  2. Push Service - Push must be enabled for the Relution App

Both messages can be resolved by opening the Relution Agent app and will then appear green in the portal. For push notifications, consent can be given if the app should receive messages from the portal.

Relution Agent for Android Enterprise

The Relution Agent is an integral part of the Relution platform and only usable with the Relution backend component. It is automatically installed on all managed devices and serves as the central application for MDM features.

App Features

  • Display device compliance status
  • Install and update relevant apps
  • Uninstall unnecessary apps
  • Display available apps from the Google Managed Play Store
  • Display messages from the MDM system on the device
  • Device login via QR code / MFA token
  • Display device information

  • Enable biometric authentication for device login

Relution Agent for Windows

The Relution Agent for Microsoft Windows provides basic functionality and is available in the Windows Store. Users with the required permissions (at least App Store User) can view Windows apps provided by the administrator via the Relution portal. Administrators can manage app requests.

Relution Agent for macOS

With Relution 5.25.0, the Relution Agent was released for macOS. This allows providing information directly to users of managed devices.

As with iOS, the Relution Agent can be installed from the App Store. To deploy the Relution Agent on managed macOS devices, it must be added as a VPP app and distributed accordingly.

App Features

  • Display device compliance status
  • Install and update relevant apps (managed devices)
  • Display messages from the MDM system on the device
  • Display device information
  • Enable push notifications

Installing Apps via the Relution Agent

To install and display apps via the Relution Agent, a user must be assigned to the device. This user can be a dummy user if only the app functionality is required.

The user must belong to at least the system group App Store User or higher. Alternatively, an appropriate permission can be created and assigned.

New Users

Create users → Assign the user to a group or permission during creation.

Existing Users via System Group

Assign members to the App Store User group under: Home → Users → Groups → [ORGA] App Store User or [ORGA] Student
