Meta Organizations

Meta Organizations form a hierarchy below the global organization. A Meta Organization bundles several sub-organizations that inherit its settings, apps and configurations. Creating organizations in general is described under Create organizations →.

Organization Type #

When creating an organization, the Organization Type is defined:

• Standalone: A standalone organization is created directly under the global organization. Assignment to a meta organization is possible at any time.
• Meta: A Meta Organization is created directly under the global organization. Other organizations can be assigned to it after creation and will inherit its settings.
• Sub: A Sub Organization is assigned to the selected meta organization and inherits its settings, apps and configurations. This assignment cannot be undone.

Inheritance to sub-organizations #

Sub-organizations adopt the settings, apps and configurations of the Meta Organization. Items shared by the Meta Organization are marked accordingly and shared with all child organizations. Such inherited items can only be changed in the Meta Organization itself.

Assigning an existing organization #

A standalone organization can be assigned to a Meta Organization afterwards via Assign to Meta Organization. The target Meta Organization is selected in the dialog.
