Device Name

Introduction #

As of Relution Server version 5.33, it is possible to set the device name for Windows devices via the Device Name policy. It is also possible to use the usual Relution placeholders, which are shown in the configuration below.

Notes #

After adjusting the device name, the device must be restarted for the new name to take effect. Until the restart, the old name will still be displayed during every “Update device information” action. The device name may only contain letters, numbers, and hyphens. This also applies to placeholders.

The entered and the displayed device name may differ. Windows does not support every format for the device name.
