Exchange

Relution allows an Exchange ActiveSync account to be centrally set up on Windows devices.

Configuration

The configuration is divided into the sections General, Account settings, Synchronization settings and Logging settings. Account name, Email address, User name and Exchange Host are required; Exchange Domain and Password are optional.

General

  • Use Secure Mail Gateway: If this feature is enabled, the URL and domain of the Secure Mail Gateway → will be distributed to the devices instead of the Exchange URL and Exchange domain. This allows the devices to communicate with the Exchange server via the Secure Mail Gateway. Exchange Host and Exchange Domain are then set automatically and cannot be edited; the unique name of the organization is used as the domain. If the user name contains an @, Relution transfers it in the format <domain>\<user name>. The option is only available if the Secure Mail Gateway is configured and enabled in the settings. If Windows or a Windows version is restricted in the Secure Mail Gateway settings, the form displays a warning.
  • Exchange Host – required, without protocol (without https://).
  • Exchange Domain – optional.
  • Exchange Server is using SSL for authentication – enabled by default.

Account settings

  • Account name – required.
  • Email address – required, supports placeholders such as ${user.email}; with Use the user’s email address, the email address of the assigned user is used.
  • User name – required. Either entered Manually, or the username (${user.name}) or email address (${user.email}) of the assigned user is used. The user name cannot be changed after the configuration has been created.
  • Password – optional, stored encrypted and no longer displayed in plain text after saving.

If a placeholder is used, a user must be assigned to the device.

Synchronization settings

  • Synchronize emails, contacts, calendar, and tasks – each individually toggleable, all enabled by default.
  • Synchronization period for emails: all, 3 days, 1 week (default), 2 weeks, or 1 month.
  • Synchronization interval: push (default), manual, every 15 or 30 minutes, or every hour.

Logging settings

  • Logging: Disabled (default), Enabled, or Advanced.
